Brooke and I recently decided that we wanted a bench out in the front yard.  While we were buying it I saw this small fire pit on sale, so in the interests of impulse buyers everywhere I picked one up.

It’s pretty cheesy, but it’s effective.   After putting everything together Valentina and I decided it would be fun to test everything.  And of course, Bowie had to get himself into the mix.  You can just make out the flames in the pit.

This Tulip is called the ‘Claudia’.  I think it’s my favorite of the multi-colored varieties.   Maybe my favorite altogether.

Here are the first in a series of photos taken at the Tulip Town fields just outside of la Conner in the Skagit Valley, Washington.  What you are seeing in these four photos are about 500,000 tulips!

When we first arrived in the Skagit Valley we didn’t quite know were to go.  What we decided to do was to follow the color.  After driving around for a few minutes we found what appeared to be an endless field of daffodils in full bloom.

A cute sign that I saw in Poulsbo when we went across in the ferry for a lunch date.

This is the boat that escorted our ferry out of Seattle. There’s a 50-caliber machine gun mounted on the bow.
