Obama, Closer to Veep Pick?

obama_caroline500 As much of the world watches breathlessly, Barack and his crew are working to pick a Vice-Presidential candidate that will have uncontroversial mass appeal.  They are hoping to pick someone who can be shown to have the appeal and therefore the backing of major demographic groups.

We know that the Clinton’s are not on the short list.  That bodes well for Obama’s message of change and hope.  But who is still on the list?  We can only hope that John Edwards, Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, and Jim Webb have made the short list.  All of these people would be, in my opinion, great choices.

There is one rumor that I’ve heard and find quite interesting.  What would you say to having Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg on the ticket?  I’m going to have to ruminate over this choice.  I mean she’s a Kennedy by God. She could bring us all back to Camelot. Most importantly, it goes against conventional wisdom and puts a strong woman on the ticket.  Maybe that would appease the bitter Clinton fans who cry misogyny rather than face the truth that their candidate was just not the best choice.

It is going to be an interesting month or so while the harbinger of change filters through the available choices and settles on the one person who can make a difference in this fight against the Republican machine and their warmonger candidate mcCain.
